Edit a video using pro edit

With Hippo Video Pro Edit, you can import video clips and audios, customize and attach them to the recorded video. You can remove the unwanted part from the video by using a clip cutter and crop the video. You can add effects like fade-in, fade-out, and set the opacity to the elements added (Text, emoji) inside Pro Edit. You can add voice and webcam narration to your videos to give a personal touch. Finally, you can also convert text to speech.

To edit the video using pro edit:

  1. Log-in to  Hippo Video with your existing credentials.

  2. Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar and open the video you want to edit.

  3. Below the video preview, click on the Edit & Personalize button > Pro Edit.

  1. You’ll be redirected to the pro edit screen. The selected file will be automatically moved to the timeline where you’ll find various editing features.


Basic editing features: 


Mode

  1. Select Allows you to select the part of the video you want to edit.

  2. Clip Cutter : Trim out the unwanted part of the video.

  • Click on the Clip Cutter icon and you’ll be able to see that your mouse changes to Blade icon.

  • Now, click on the specific part of the video and then click & drag the bars with the help of this double-headed arrow.

  • Once you’re done, click the Delete button.

  1. Crop : Allows you to frame the video to the desired area. 

  • Click on the Crop icon and you’ll see the orange selection across your video.

  • Now, resize the borders to the desired dimension to crop.

  • Once you’re done, click on the Crop.


Tools

  1. Add Text : Any video you record has to be improved by adding text to make it easier for the viewers’ to understand. 

  • Click on the Text icon.

  • Enter the text you greet your prospects and also insert merge fields such as First Name, Company Name, etc.

  • You can format the text by changing font family, size, and color.

  • Once you’re done, click Add.

  1. Add Smileys and Add Callouts: You can add emojis and callouts to make your video understandable to the users.

  • Click on the appropriate icons upon which the pop will appear.

  • Select the options from the list and then click Add.

  1. Add Effects : Select the Image/Video clip, to add effects such as:

  • Video fade-in/out, positions, size, and opacity

  • Audio fade-in/out & increase volume.

  • Add blur: You can add a blur to sensitive sections in your video. E.g., Phone number, Personal email id, etc.

  • Chroma Key (Green screens/chroma key is all about differentiating the foreground and the background based on color).

  1. Add Image You also have an option to add images 

  • Click on the Image icon and then select the appropriate buttons.

    • Add Image - You can add images from your local/recently used/g-drive/library images/free stock images/shopify.

    • Add Personalized Image - You can add custom images to personalize your videos. E.g. Logo of your company.

    • Add Website Snapshot - You can personalize your videos by adding the prospect’s website snapshot.


Narration

  1. Below the Narration label, you have various options such as:

  • Record Audio- To record only the audio.

    • Click on the Mic icon. You will notice that the narration track appears above the video track.

    • Start recording your audio.

    • Once you’re done, click on Finish.

Note: To select the audio source, click the Mic icon.
  • To Record Video, click .

    • Click on the Webcam. You will notice that the narration track appears above the video track.

    • Start recording your audio.

    • Once you’re done, click on Finish.

Note: To select the webcam source, position, & size, click the Gear icon. 
  • Text to Speech- To convert your text into a speech format.

    • Click on the Mic icon.

    • Enter the text, select the voice as Female, Male, etc, speed, and pitch.

    • You also have an option to preview the speech.

    • Once you’re done, click on Add.


To manage timeline features:

1 - To delete the track

2 - To rename the track

3 - To add track

4 - To increase/decrease the timeline view


To manage clip settings:

  1. Select the clip on the timeline upon which the Clip Settings and Effects tabs will appear at the top of the timeline.
  1. Video section helps you to adjust the video settings such as fading, position, width, height, and opacity.
  1. Audio section helps you to adjust the audio settings such as fading, and volume.


To import media:

  1. Click on Import from the top left corner of your screen.

  1. You can import media from local/recorded videos/audio library/g-drive/library images/free stock images.

  1. Select the appropriate media and click on Proceed.

  2. Once the files are imported, drag it to the timeline and edit with the help of the editing features as required. 

Note: You can Undo and Redo any action.
  1. Once you’ve done editing, click on the HD Preview button at the top right to preview the edited video.

  2. Then, click on Save at the top right.


Import and add videos:

Videos can also have intros and outros. Intros are visuals that appear at the beginning of a video, while outros are visible at the end. You can capture their attention through an engaging intro, and you can end the piece with an outro that includes a call to action. 


To import and add videos (beginning):

  1. Select the clip on the timeline and move.

  1. Click on the blank space on the timeline.

  1. Now, click the Import button on the top left.

  1. Select the file from your local, recorded videos, or g-drive and click the Proceed button. 

  1. The selected file will be imported. Now, drag and drop the file to the timeline.


To import and add videos (end):

  1. On the timeline, move your cursor to the end of the video clip.

  1. Select the file from your local, recorded videos, or g-drive and click the Proceed button.

  1. The selected file will be imported. Now, drag and drop the file to the timeline.

  1. Once this is done, click the HD Preview in the top right corner, and you can make changes to the video if needed.

  2. Or click the Save button at the top right. Now, all three videos will be merged and saved.
